This past Friday the biggest soundsystem event of the year took place in Stockholm. Safari Sound, Stereo Steppas and City Lock closed the 45′ shop and played dubplates all night long. War vibes started from early and word and tune flung from left to right. Big up everyone involved and Empire Entertainment for organizing the event.
Some weeks ago we were invited to the very popular War Ina East weekend in Berlin by Superlock and Herbalize It. War Ina East is the biggest annual soundclash in Europe which has existed for more than 13 years. The night before the soundclash itself is titled “Juggle Ina East” and as the title indicates, it´s a juggling party with some of the top soundsystems in Europe. We had the pleasure to share the evening with sound like Supersonic, Herbalize It, City Lock and One Love HP. This was all documented by the one and only “world soundclash professor” Gibbo. So all credit to Gibbo for the video, make sure you visit his website and subscribe to his YouTube channel for your latest soundclash news.
A few weeks ago we had the premiere night of our monthly dance LOUD:R! which we do together with Stereo Steppas. It was a successful evening and we gave the people everything from Bob Andy to Alkaline. The night ended in a friendly dub fi dub and the vibe were crazy. This is what it looked like:
Make sure you pass through LOUD:R! 25/10 if you love good reggae music from then until now, and spontaneous soundclashes.
Last week we made an exclusive mix for Seani B´s “Art Of Juggling” series on his new show at BBC Radio 1Xtra. In case you missed it you can listen again here, or download it to your “dubplate mixes” library.
Last night Safari Sound entered the war arena. This was our first clash and it ended up with the other sound getting locked off. 2014 Safari have several clashes lined up so keep your eyes and ears open.
A few weeks ago we played a couple of dances in mainland Europe (Switzerland, Austria, Germany) as a part of a small tour arranged by our bonafide friends from Stuttgart, Jugglerz. During this tour we touched down in various cities in the countries mentioned. One of them was Cologne. We had the pleasure and honor to play side by side with the mighty Pow Pow Movement who has been locking things down for over two decades in Germany. Their weekly Friday night dance, which has been kept at Petit Prince for 18 (!!!) years, is always ram packed and known to be one of the best weekly dances in Germany.
So here we go, a recording from that Friday 13th night when Safari and Pow Pow shell dung Petit Prince together. Unfortunately our recorder pop dung sometime during the night so the entire night wasn’t recorded. But hey, better with some vibes than no vibes, right?
The fast rising sensation Chronixx, son of the legendary singer Chronicle, visited New York for the first time this week. As any other big artist who is in New York, he joined our good friend Max Glazer from Federation Sound at Radio Lily (Miss Lily´s). Check out this wicked interview which also includes a crazy freestyle session where Chronixx go all out on Studio 1 riddims.
