We just dropped a sick mixtape together with Red Fox and Large Up. In case you’ve missed it, make sure you check it out immediately. Last night was the release party for the Fiyah Fox mixtape at the Brand New Machine party at The Delancey in New York and our good friend Kenny Meez from Federation Sound caught these moments on tape:
The deejay who gave New York’s dancehall scene its style and swagger in the 1990s is back, and more prolific than ever. We teamed up with Large Up to present Fiyah Fox, the first-ever mixtape from Red Fox, and his first full-length release in 17 years. Blended in fine style, Fiyah Fox features over an hour of scorchers including all of Red’s latest tunes, brand-new originals, dubplate versions of his classics, hip-hop freestyles and more.
Guests include Shaggy, Rayvon, Naturalee, Gramps Morgan, Screechy Dan, Christopher Martin, Chico, Golden Child and Jimmy Cozier. Red’s always been known for his diverse lyrical themes, and Fiyah Fox definitely touches all of the bases, from culture tunes to dancefloor fillers and even a little much-needed comedy.
Visit Large Up (or the link below) , download Fiyah Fox, keep an eye out for Large Ups in-depth interview with Red, and, if you’re be in NYC tonight, make sure you visit the Fiyah Fox release party at the new-and-improved Brand New Machine party at The Delancey.
We’ve teamed up with Large Up and one of our favorite artists, the Brooklyn don Red Fox, in order to create Red Fox first ever mixtape. The mix will be available online November 21st but you can get a taste of it now. Log on to Large Up and read all about it.
A few weeks ago we played a couple of dances in mainland Europe (Switzerland, Austria, Germany) as a part of a small tour arranged by our bonafide friends from Stuttgart, Jugglerz. During this tour we touched down in various cities in the countries mentioned. One of them was Cologne. We had the pleasure and honor to play side by side with the mighty Pow Pow Movement who has been locking things down for over two decades in Germany. Their weekly Friday night dance, which has been kept at Petit Prince for 18 (!!!) years, is always ram packed and known to be one of the best weekly dances in Germany.
So here we go, a recording from that Friday 13th night when Safari and Pow Pow shell dung Petit Prince together. Unfortunately our recorder pop dung sometime during the night so the entire night wasn’t recorded. But hey, better with some vibes than no vibes, right?
Next week we will be doing a small tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Make sure to link up if you are in the area. Big up Jugglerz for organizing the tour.
